Clear, readable and free of legalese: what we process about you, why and for how long.

Hosting and server logs
This website is delivered via Cloudflare. When you open it, the server processes technically necessary connection data: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type and status code. This is necessary to deliver the page, to prevent abuse and to keep operations secure (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO). Cloudflare stores connection data only for as long as this operation requires. How long we keep logs ourselves is explained in the section Retention periods.
Cloudflare acts as a processor pursuant to Art. 28 DSGVO. This may involve a transfer to the USA. It relies on the adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, and otherwise on standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission.
Reservations
We currently take reservations by phone (online reservations are temporarily unavailable). If you call and reserve a table, we process the details you give us and that we record: name, phone number, optionally your email address, date, time, number of guests and your requests. The purpose is to carry out and confirm your reservation and, if necessary, to change it. The legal basis is Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO (contract or pre-contractual measures). Without these details, we cannot accept a reservation.
Please do not write any sensitive information, for example about your health, in the requests field. Only tell us about allergies or accessibility needs where they are necessary for your visit; they are then based on your own notification.
How long we keep reservation data is explained in the section Retention periods.
The reservation runs through our own system; we do not pass your data on to external reservation platforms.
Retention periods
A daily deletion run removes or anonymises data as soon as its retention period has expired:
- Name, phone number, email address and requests for the reservation: anonymised 90 days after the reservation date
- Short-term table hold during booking: expires after 10 minutes
- Personal link for managing the reservation: deleted after expiry, at the latest 30 days after use or revocation
- Technical protection against duplicate bookings: deleted 7 days after expiry
- Security and change log without plain-text contact details: deleted after 730 days
Database backups are kept on a rotating basis: 7 daily, 4 weekly and 6 monthly copies. The oldest copy is therefore about 6 months old; after that, deleted data has also disappeared from the backups. Statutory retention obligations for accounting records remain unaffected.
Sending emails
We currently do not send automatic emails. We only use an email address you give us to reach you with questions about your reservation (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO). We do not send newsletters or advertising.
Fonts and media
We serve the fonts of this website ourselves. Your browser does not fetch them from Google, and no IP address is transmitted to Google in the process. Images and graphics also come from our own servers.
External links
We link to Instagram, TikTok and Google Maps. These links are simple references: only when you click them do you leave our site, and the respective provider receives your data under its own privacy policy. We do not embed any content, maps or widgets from these providers.
No analytics and no tracking
We currently do not use any services for audience measurement, analytics or advertising. Should this change, we will adapt this policy beforehand and, where necessary, ask for your consent.
Your rights
Under the DSGVO (GDPR), you have the following rights:
- Access to the data we store about you (Art. 15)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16)
- Erasure (Art. 17)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18)
- Data portability (Art. 20)
- Objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21)
If you have consented to processing, you can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future; the lawfulness of the processing carried out until then remains unaffected. Simply write to us at hello@dachderliebe.de.
Right to lodge a complaint
You can lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 DSGVO). The authority responsible for us is:
Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit
Alt-Moabit 59-61, 10555 Berlin
